Family Session in the Sun

I have really missed working with families.  When I was getting booked with senior sessions last season I thought I would exclusively shoot seniors from that point on.  Having had a break from working with families, I’m realizing how much I really missed it!  Yes, it is much harder to work with little kids than seniors who are willing to sit still, but children and families bring me so much joy and laughter.  So I have decided to bring myself back to taking on more family sessions.  I will still be shooting seniors, but I’m excited to book some more family sessions!

I gave my blog a makeover and I’m also going through a change in my pricing.  Details for fall mini sessions will also be out soon, so be on the lookout!

Just One From Today

I had so much fun taking pictures of these adorable kiddos today.  This was the third time I got to take pictures of these cute faces and it was so wonderful to see how much they had grown since the last time I saw them!  Children never cease to amaze me with their ability to grow tremendously in such a short length of time.  It made me think about how important it is to book photo shoots to keep these precious moments archived for a lifetime.  There are so many great pictures to share from the session, but today I’m leaving you with just one picture that warms my heart.  One of my favorite parts about photographing families is capturing the bond between siblings… like this here.

Some of my clients have been asking me about fall mini sessions now that the holidays are approaching.  My little man is due October 23rd, so I’m hoping to hold some mini sessions in September while I’m still comfortably mobile.  As you can imagine, being able to move around is really important when working with little kids.  I’m not ready to announce all the details on the blog, but if you would like me to contact you with information about a family mini session, please e-mail me at capturedbyemi@gmail.com.

Beautiful picture of two of my favorite kiddo’s!

Mommy & Me Session

My sister flew up here from CA over the weekend for some family time.  It was so great to see her and my adorable little nephew.  They have such a special bond which I have always admired.  While watching the two of them interact, I couldn’t help but daydream about how wonderful it will be to have a little boy of my own.

These are GORGEOUS!

Kristin-Class of 2012 Senior Rep

I wrapped up my senior rep sessions on Sunday with the ever so beautiful Kristin!  Kristin is practically a carbon copy of her big sister, who is my friend, I had to make sure I called her by the correct name the entire night!  While shooting in Edmonds, the kind owner of Bountiful Home welcomed us to use his beautiful garden in the back of his shop as a backdrop.  It was so pretty back there, full of little surprises and color. I especially loved the fence he had made out of recycled materials. How neat…  Thank you Todd for letting us use your space. Kristin, you did a great job being your cute self in front of the camera!

Class of 2012-Contact me before the end of June to get a complimentary DVD slideshow with your session. Please e-mail me at capturedbyemi@gmail.com.

Stunning Kayla

Kayla booked me way back in the fall of 2010 and I knew we were going to have a blast together!  She was obviously passionate about fashion and had an interest in photography too! What better match could I ask for?  Kayla came well prepared with strategically planned out outfits and I could tell she had done her homework practicing poses.  To my future clients-I highly recommend spending some time in front of a mirror posing before the shoot.  It might feel silly, but you will feel much more confident at the session after having practiced some looks!

I made a slideshow of Kayla’s images to share what a session with me is like.  Class of 2012, I am looking forward to hearing from you!  Book before the end of June and I will add on a slideshow like this one on DVD as a gift!
